Are you persistent enough to fight for your dream?

Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill
Chapter 9 – The Eighth Step towards Riches
Persistence

Persistence is the act of determination to see a goal through to the end. Not giving up no matter what obstacles you face. We all have obstacles in life but we have a choice to make. You can let the obstacle overwhelm you and win or you can fight back and continue until you’ve reached your goal. Without persistence you will be defeated. When I began to doubt myself, I let fear take over. I gave up and was defeated by some obstacles that might have been overcome if I had been persistent and fought for my dream. I gave up and crawled in a ball and cried. I let our financial challenges win and ended up losing everything. If I had determination and persistence to continue on and make sure it didn’t happen, it would not have happened. Now I know better and I will never make that mistake again! I thought that life was just going to take care of me and I’d live happily ever after, but I have since realized that I have to create my happily ever after.

Having persistence is the key to reaching success. You can set goals, have a plan, and believe they are going to happen but the first time you are stopped with a road block, you will not go any further unless you are persistence. I love hearing about famous stories of persistence. Michael Jordan was cut from his high school basketball team but he didn’t let himself be stopped. He kept on fighting for his dream and look where he ended up. Thomas Edison was told he was too “stupid” and “unteachable” to continue school but he knew otherwise and set out to show the world what happens when you believe in yourself. He didn’t let the words of a teacher stop him from achieving great things. Walt Disney was told he lacked creativity and was fired from his job at a newspaper. He went on to build an animation company that went out of business, created a cartoon character that was stolen from him by others without getting credit for his work. Instead of throwing in the towel and giving up he had a vision to create a film for a novel called “Mary Poppins” but it took him 16 years to persuade the author to sell him the rights. A movie that is a classic to children and adults all over the world. He obviously believed in himself despite what others said about him. How different would this world be without Walt Disney and his ideas and creativity. Just think of what this world would’ve missed if any of these men listened to what they were told, how different would our life be?

How much of an impact will you make on those people around you? But remember: Never ever, ever give up!

Choose Wellness over Illness

How much our society has changed since the day when there was one doctor in town and he or she made house calls. Life was so simple and people hardly took any medicine unless they were sick. Today almost half (48%) of Americans take some form of medication on a daily basis. This statistic has increased by 20% in recent years and increased by 70% for those who are taking five or more medications daily. That is staggering. In addition, health care costs have increased by 9% to 12% outpacing inflation and it is expected to double in the next five years. With these statistics and poor economy no wonder the majority of Americans are on anti-depressants. Our health care system functions in a reactive way, meaning the money that is paid out by individuals for health care insurance isn’t used until someone gets sick. But what about those that want to prevent sickness? Unfortunately, only 5% of health care dollars goes to preventative care while 95% goes to treatment for illness. Wouldn’t it be so much better if 95% went towards preventative and 5% went towards sickness? In a perfect world maybe…

As a society I think we need to shift our focus from a reactive form of health care to a proactive or preventative way. If we want to join a gym to exercise more, we have to pay for it out of our pockets. And exercise alone would probably eliminate a large amount of ailments and sicknesses. 70% of our medical problems are due to poor lifestyle choices which also mean that 90% of our health care costs are due to preventable illnesses. Out of the top 10 leading causes of death virtually all are considered preventative or manageable.

Focusing on preventative care would cut down on doctor visits which leave more time to spend on things you want to do. Let me paint a picture. Imagine living with an abundance of energy, feeling great and enjoying life to the fullest or living with worry, stress, with constant aches and pains. Which of those lifestyles would you want to be in?

One company that is helping individuals become healthier is Vitamark International. One of our most popular products is Limu Plus. Some of the ingredients in our juice are seaweed, aloe vera, Russian adaptogens, and green tea and is taken daily. One to two ounces a day can help one sleep better, improve blood function, and equip the body to adapt to stressors, as well as improve digestion. For those that are looking to lose a few pounds or just maintain a healthy weight there are the Appetizer shakes and diet cookies. The shakes feature a special whey protein concentrate made from only the milk portion of light white cheese. It comprises every amino acid – helping the body convert fat to muscle. The diet cookies are more than a delicious snack but provide nutritional support, energy and fullness with added benefit of more fiber. These are just two of our many products you will find at http://trish.shopvitamark.com. I have been taking Limu Plus for about four months now and I have been able to stop taking my synthroid and feeling great! Vitamark has excellent products backed by scientific research and are very reasonably priced. If you purchase any of our products there is a 100% money back guarantee if you are not satisfied just return the product for a full refund. So what do you have to lose?

Get Inside Your Prospects’ Mind

Tom “Big Al” Schreiter is well respected in the Network Marketing Industry. He has over 30 years experience and great ideas to approach various situations. I read this article on his blog and just had to repost it. You can check out some tips and strategies for Network Marketing on his blog FortuneNow.com

Food for thought.

“One married couple goes out to a restaurant twice a week for dinner. They spend $160 a month on eating out. They get fat.

“Another married couple invests $160 a month in their own network marketing business. They stay slim and healthy. In a few years they retire.”

I like this. It opens up the prospects’ minds and lets them know that a small change of behavior can make them successful. Also, I don’t get the objection, “I can’t afford it.”

They are already spending the money they need to participate in their own network marketing business. Now it is a matter of choice. Do they want to continue to dine out or would they rather eventually own the restaurant?

Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill
Chapter 7 – The Sixth Step towards riches
Organized Planning

I consider myself to be an organized person. I make lists for just about everything I do and I think it’s fair to say that I’m not a very spontaneous person. If it isn’t planned, I’m not doing it. I remember taking 9 months to plan my wedding. Planning the church, hall, photographer, cake, food, flowers right on down to what I wanted for my centerpieces. All that work and effort for 1 day and yet how many people fail to make a plan for a successful marriage or a successful life? So many people put more effort into planning a party than planning their future. Failing to make a plan is planning to fail.

Unfortunately, I was one of those that failed to plan and I have had my share of defeats. I’m not saying I’m a failure altogether but I could’ve avoided a lot of pain and heartache if I had just had a plan to follow. But the good news is that I have learned from my defeats and redirected myself away from making those same mistakes again. A leader remembers that when a plan fails, it is only a temporary defeat and not a permanent failure. Defeat helps us to look at our plans and “tweek” those plans for a better chance of success. A quitter never wins and a winner never quits.

There are many famous people in history that were met with defeat and yet they went on to be very successful. Michael Jordan was cut from his basketball team in high school and yet that didn’t stop him from reaching his goal. Walt Disney was fired from his newspaper job because he was told he lacked imagination and creativity and yet look what he accomplished in his life and the legacy he left even after his death! Abraham Lincoln was defeated in 8 elections and yet he went on to be on of the important presidents in American history. How would our history books read today if Mr. Lincoln quit after just 1 of his defeats?

If you never failed you never lived.

To Your Success,

Positive thinking produces winners

Notes From the Napoleon Hill World Learning Center
Neutral words do not impact us. They do not position us in one direction or another. They leave us smack in the middle of wherever we find ourselves. Positive word choices, however, help us become winners. They ease our way into a home run, completing a marathon, and becoming the best version of ourselves we choose to be.

When you use positive self-talk, you are giving yourself a spiritual massage. It feels good, and it can produce good results as long as you work toward achieving the expectations that you set for yourself. Don’t fool yourself in believing that you are someone or something you are not. Rather accept the challenge of giving yourself positive self-talk daily – even hourly – to heighten your awareness of what you can become one positive affirmation at a time. Truly, when you believe it you will be it!

And remember; Never, Never, Never give up!!

Imagination: The Workshop of the Mind

  • Posted on February 9, 2011 at 2:21 pm

The very Best thing about imagination is…..no one can take it away from you.  And even if you allowed it to get all full of fungy and mold  by television and other distracting things that do not feed it.  You can renew it in a instant.

You are who you are because of your own unique imagination. It will serve you when used properly.

I am so amazed at all the people who were told that what they were imaging was impossible.  Ghandi,  The Horse Secretariat’s owner, Chris Gardner (The Pursuit of Happiness), Michael Jordan just to name a few.  So many People decided to go against the odds and use there imaginations to fuel their Vision. Einstein said, “Imagination is MORE important than knowledge.”  You can have all the knowledge in the world but it isn’t necessarily going to be of any use to you with your imagination.

What a winning Idea.  You are already a winner when you use your imagination and do not give up on your beliefs.  That you have and nobody can take that from you without your permission.

I find it interesting how small children can use their imagination for anything and everything. I’m always amazed at how I spend money for toys and yet they can be amused for hours playing with a box. Why is it as we get older we use our imagination less and less? I know for me it’s the fear of being criticized or judged but in the end I’m the one that loses out because the fear becomes an obstacle that stops me from reaching my full potential. Since I’ve begun my journey in reading “Think and Grow Rich” and building my own successful Network Marketing business I find that I am using my imagination a lot more and I’m not so worried about what other people think anymore.

So remember this:  your imagination is there and it’s waiting for you to use it.  Imagine what your life would be like if money wasn’t an issue. Where would you live? Where would you travel? What would you do? There are valuable Treasures in your imagination waiting to be discovered and maybe, just maybe you could live a life most people only dream of.
